Prison Chaplain – Invercargill Prison (Part Time)
16 hours per week (negotiable)

- Will you support Ara Poutama Aotearoa’s goal of keeping communities safe and changing lives?
- Can you use your ministry skills to coordinate religious services and provide pastoral support?
You will have the opportunity to journey with prisoners as they encounter the challenges of prison life and separation from loved ones and whanau.
Role Priorities
We need someone who has a deep faith, pastoral experience and who has knowledge of te reo and Tikanga. You must be confident in providing group and individual services, pastoral support, as well as leading and coordinating volunteers. Experience working with mental health issues would be advantageous.
Significant ministry and pastoral counselling experience are required for the role, as is an appropriate level of mental and physical agility.
Your ability to be adaptable and flexible is important, and you will preferably either have a formal theological qualification or have made significant progress towards one
Good IT aptitude is essential, with the ability to use Office 365 (experience using SharePoint will be advantageous).
