TTPCA Trust Board – A farewell and a welcome
TTPCA farewelled its Board Chair of six years, Anne Dickinson, at the recent October Board meeting. During the farewell, Anne was given flowers and gifts, and also presented with a pikorua symbolising the relationship she has formed with TTPCA and her commitment to bicultural relations in the organisation.
Anne made a pivotal contribution to the growth of our organisation during her time as Board Chair. She was committed to strengthening the wellbeing of staff, growing the professionalism of TTPCA, and ensuring that TTPCA’s strategy, values and mission are supportive of all men and women in prison, regardless of their religious or spiritual identity. Anne also led a refresh of TTPCA’s Trust deed which hadn’t changed since the Trust was established in 2000.
We are grateful for all the support and energy that Anne gave to prison chaplaincy and her care for the staff. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe e Anne.
With Anne stepping away from the Board of TTPCA, we now welcome Te Aroha Rountree as the new Board Chair. Te Aroha is one of two representatives from Te Rūnanga Whakawhanaunga I Ngā Hāhi o Aotearoa – the Māori Council of Churches and has been on the TTPCA Trust Board since 2021.
Te Aroha will lead a relatively new group of Board members in overseeing the ongoing development work taking place in prison chaplaincy. Some of that work includes nurturing TTPCA’s cultural sensitivity and strengthening the relationships with our sponsoring Churches. Te Aroha has already been in involved in TTPCA’s development as she was part of the team who helped develop the new name and logo for TTPCA. We look forward to Te Aroha’s leadership and wish her all the best for her mahi as Board Chair. Kia tau anō ngā manaakitanga i tō mahi ki mua kia koe Te Aroha.
